More Than a Roof has been selected to manage and operate a 53-unit rental housing development for low-income independent seniors and people with disabilities at the Little Mountain site in Vancouver.
More Than a Roof brings 30 years of experience in developing and providing inclusive communities of affordable housing for low to moderate income families and individuals living with mental health and addictions in the Lower Mainland, Prince George and on the Island. The selection follows a Request for Proposal call issued in January 2014.
The building, the first to be built on the Little Mountain site, is located at 155 East 37th Ave. in Vancouver. Occupancy is scheduled to take place in fall 2014.
Quick Facts:
- The five-storey building will include 53 one- and two-bedroom apartments. The four households remaining on site as well as former Little Mountain residents who are seniors will have the first opportunity to move into the new homes.
- The Little Mountain property in Vancouver, bounded by 33rd to 37th avenues between Main and Ontario streets, is being redeveloped into a mixed-use community. The original 224 social housing units will be replaced with 234 units of new social housing apartments.

- More Than a Roof is a non-profit organization providing affordable housing for families and individuals in recovery from mental health and addictions since 1984.
