Minister of Natural Gas Development Rich Coleman has issued the following statement:
“The Province’s second liquefied natural gas (LNG) proposal at Grassy Point near Prince Rupert has filed for an export licence with Canada.
“Each new milestone is proof that the Province’s strategy to supply Asia with clean energy continues to gain momentum. Woodside is the latest company to submit an export request with the National Energy Board.
“This is a company with experience operating natural gas projects around the world, and they have chosen British Columbia to invest in tomorrow’s energy potential.
“We look forward to working with Woodside to create jobs and economic prosperity in our province as part of a sole proponent agreement signed last year.”
