Premier Christy Clark has issued the following statement in celebration of Lunar New Year:
"As we move from the Year of the Snake into the Year of the Horse, all signs point toward a great year for British Columbia.
"With a proven record of fiscal prudence, and proximity to the world's fastest-growing markets in Asia, British Columbia is poised to flourish in 2014 and beyond.
"We will continue to build and strengthen our relationship with our friends in Asia, so that as we work to export our natural gas, we not only grow our economy here at home, but we also help our friends fuel their growth with cleaner energy.
"Lunar New Year is also a time to recognize the many Asian Canadians here in British Columbia who make a tremendous contribution to our communities, to our economy, and to our whole province. You make British Columbia a more diverse and vibrant place.
"May the Year of the Horse be a safe, healthy and prosperous one for you and your family.
"Kung Hei Fat Choi and Gung Xi, Gung Xi to all who celebrate."
