VICTORIA - Premier Christy Clark issued the following statement on Canada Day:

“Today is a day to get together with friends and family to celebrate our great nation. It’s an opportunity to reflect on our good fortune to call this free, prosperous, and vibrant country home.

“And it’s a chance to thank the men and women whose vision and hard work continue to make this country better. To the people who deliver the services we depend on, to those who keep us safe, to the athletes and artists who make us proud to wear the maple leaf - thank you for everything you do.

“Happy Canada Day.”
