“The setting of the sun this evening marks the beginning of Rosh Hashanah and the first of the High Holy Days.

“In British Columbia and around the globe, the Jewish people will celebrate Rosh Hashanah with the sound of the shofar, eating apples dipped in honey, and other traditions that have stood the test of centuries, through good times and bad.

“I wish British Columbia’s Jewish community a sweet and happy new year filled with blessings and good health. Shana tova u’metuka.”
