The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is hosting an open house to get feedback from motorists on improvements being planned for Westside Road from Waterfront Farm to Blue Grouse.
Plans to upgrade the 800 metres of Westside Road from Waterfront Farm to Blue Grouse is part of the ongoing series of safety improvements for this important road in the Okanagan.
Generally, the project will incorporate the following design criteria:
- two-lane road
- 70 km/h design speed
- 3.6 m wide lanes
- 1.3 m paved shoulder with roadside barrier
- Ditch widening and slope protection for rock catchment
Construction through steep rock slope areas may necessitate scheduled closures of Westside Road for short periods of the day. Feedback is being sought on the proposed design as well as the timing for any road closures.
Senior Project Manager Spencer King will be at the open house to answer any questions. If you are not able to attend, please send your comments or questions to Spencer King at: Spencer.King@gov.bc.ca
