Two new appointments to the Audit Council for the Auditor General for Local Government were announced today by Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development Peter Fassbender.
Dorothy Hartshorne and Ernest Daykin will join the five-member council, chaired by Tony Ariganello.
Hartshorne is the co-founder of Hartshorne Enterprises Inc. and former co-owner/operator of Hartshorne Tree Service Ltd. She served as a councillor for the District of North Saanich from 1999-2005. Hartshorne’s community involvement includes serving as chair of the North Saanich Public Involvement Committee and Vice Chair of the North Saanich Environmental Advisory Commission.
Ernie Daykin is a past mayor of Maple Ridge and currently the administrator for the Baptist Housing Society’s Maple Towers. He has been involved in seniors’ non-profit housing since 2000 in a variety of roles. Daykin is active in his community through his work in providing safe and affordable housing for seniors with low income.
