Reservations for the winter holiday season at Porteau Cove Provincial Park can be made for the first time.
This popular park, which features oceanfront campsites with a view over Howe Sound to the mountains, has always been open for winter camping. Each campsite offers electrical services to offer campers the opportunity to bring their heating blankets or kettles to keep cozy and warm.
BC Parks is trying reservations during this winter season as a pilot project, due to growing demand and to provide customers more certainty in planning their winter camping holidays.
Reservations can be made beginning on Dec. 9 at 7 a.m. PT, for any time from Dec. 18, 2015 to Jan. 3, 2016. Reservations will also be available for the Family Day long weekend, which runs Feb. 5-8, 2016. Winter rates are in effect until Feb. 29.
Porteau Cove is one of many campgrounds across B.C. that is open year-round, with fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. Several of BC Parks’ campgrounds offer winter rates for camping with reduced services.
