Finance Minister Michael de Jong travels to London, England, Feb. 27 - March 3, 2015, where he will meet with investors to discuss the Province’s triple-A credit rating, B.C.’s recently released third consecutive balanced budget and investor opportunities.
In London, de Jong will meet with investors to highlight B.C.’s economic strength, including the Province’s favourable credit story and investor opportunities such as LNG and Canada’s new role as a renminbi trading hub - a measure that will make it easier for B.C. firms to do business in China by using renminbi in trade, commerce, and investment with that country. London is already a renminbi trading centre, and B.C. hopes to learn more from their experience.
The estimated travel and accommodation cost for the minister and his chief of staff is approximately $8,500. Detailed information on final amounts will be made available.
