Minister of Finance Michael de Jong travels to the United States, Ontario and Quebec to discuss the Province’s triple-A credit rating, B.C.’s recently released third-consecutive balanced budget, and investor opportunities.
de Jong will meet April 6 through April 10, with investors in New York, Montreal, Toronto and Chicago to highlight B.C.’s economic strength, including the Province’s favourable credit story and investor opportunities such as LNG and Canada’s new role as a renminbi trading hub - a measure that will make it easier for B.C. firms to do business in China by using renminbi in trade, commerce, and investment with that country.
The estimated travel and accommodation cost for the minister and his chief of staff is approximately $8,100.
