Minister of Finance Michael de Jong travels to Europe, where he will meet with investors to discuss B.C.’s economic strength and the Province’s favourable credit story.
In Amsterdam, Paris and Athens, Minister de Jong will promote investor opportunities such as B.C. bonds, the Province’s LNG industry and the maritime shipping industry.
While in the Netherlands, de Jong will also partake in events commemorating the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. The Province is contributing $2,000 to each veteran travelling to VE Day events, each with an accompanying person, matching funding provided through a federal program. de Jong was invited by the Government of Canada to represent B.C. in the official delegation.
The estimated travel and accommodation cost for the minister and his chief of staff is approximately $7,900.
