The Wildfire Management Branch is responding to a four-hectare human-caused fire on the Hannay Forest Service road, approximately 30 km east of the community of Burns Lake.

No structures or property are threatened at this time; however, smoke, flames and firefighting aircraft may be visible from Highway 16, east of Burns Lake.

There are currently 12 Wildfire Management Branch personnel and 10-15 industry personnel responding to this fire. Airtankers and heavy equipment are supporting crews on the ground.

The Wildfire Management Branch would like to thank the public for the phone reports received which allowed a quick and efficient response to this incident.
