TERRACE - The Wildfire Management Branch is responding to a 1.5-hectare wildfire near the southern end of Lakelse Lake, about 19 kilometres southwest of Terrace. The fire was sparked by lightning.
This fire is located in steep, rocky terrain that may challenge firefighting efforts. No structures or property are threatened at this time, but smoke, flames and firefighting aircraft may be visible from cabins along Lakelse Lake.
Five Wildfire Management Branch personnel are responding to this fire, along with one helicopter that is supporting firefighting efforts on the ground.
