Effective at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, the area restriction put in place by wildfire officials for the Boulder Creek wildfire will be rescinded, due to reduced fire activity.
However, because of the many natural hazards that exist in this area, anyone planning to access this area should first check on the condition of the Forest Service roads on the Sea to Sky District website at: www.for.gov.bc.ca/dsq/Engineering/RoadInformation.htm
Recreationalists who choose to access areas following wildfires are reminded of post-wildfire hazards that may be present, including danger trees (trees whose roots or branches were damaged by the wildfire), falling debris and an increased risk of soil movement during or after a rainfall.
