The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a motor vehicle incident near Duncan on Jan. 4, 2015.

He was Andre Rene Genest, aged 29, of Ladysmith.

Mr. Genest was the driver and sole occupant of a pickup truck that was travelling southbound on Highway 1 north of Duncan about 7:50 p.m.on Jan. 4, 2015, when, about 800 metres south of the intersection with Mt. Sicker Road, it left the highway and rolled. Mr. Genest was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Genest has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
