The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died in a motor vehicle incident near Parksville on Feb. 1, 2015.

She was Samantha Ann Marie Calder, aged 18, of Parksville.

Ms. Calder was a passenger in a pickup truck that was travelling southbound on Highway 19 near Parksville about 9:40 a.m. on Feb. 1 when the truck left the highway, striking a car and a girder and then rolling. Ms. Calder was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

The family of Ms. Calder has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
