The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of two women who were discovered deceased in a private residence in Saanich on Feb. 25, 2015.

The women were Dorothy Elizabeth Barton, aged 86, and her daughter Susan April Barton, aged 57, both from Saanich.

They were discovered deceased by a family friend in a private residence after Dorothy Barton had failed to return to her residential care home.

The BC Coroners Service and Saanich Police continue to investigate this death. Preliminary investigation suggests that there is nothing to indicate that foul play was involved in either of these deaths.

The family of Dorothy and Susan Barton have been notified of their deaths. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
