The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who died following a motor-vehicle incident near Smithers on April 6, 2015.
He was William Edward Gush, aged 61, of Telkwa, a small community about 15 kilometres southeast of Smithers.
Mr. Gush was driving a pickup truck on the Babine Lake Road, a logging road, at about 8:30 p.m. on April 6 when he stopped the truck and got out of it. A second pickup truck going in the same direction hit Mr. Gush’s truck and then struck Mr. Gush as he was standing near his truck. He was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Gush has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
