The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a motorcycle incident in Sidney on April 9, 2015.

He was John Charles Mackelson, aged 50, of Sidney.

Mr. Mackelson was the operator of a motorcycle that was in collision with a propane truck at the intersection of Lands End and Cloake Hill Roads in North Saanich just before 2 p.m. on April 9. Mr. Mackelson was deceased at the scene.  

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Mackelson has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
