The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who was found deceased at the University of B.C. on April 9, 2015.

He was Roderick Bruce Cortner, aged 66, of Vancouver.

Mr. Cortner was found deceased on the rear of the property of the house occupied by the University of B.C. president by a staff member on April 9, 2015. He is believed to have died the previous day.

The BC Coroners Service continues to investigate to determine the cause of this death. Foul play has now been ruled out.

Mr. Cortner’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy during this difficulty time.
