The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a boating incident on Adams Lake near Chase on May 2, 2015.
He was Michael David Treseng, aged 56, from Clearwater.
Mr. Treseng was camping with family at Adams Lake about 30 kilometres north of Chase. In the early morning hours of May 2, he and a family member decided to go night-fishing and set out in a 3.5 metre aluminium boat. The boat overturned about 90 metres from shore. The family member was able to swim to shore, but Mr. Treseng failed to complete the swim. The RCMP dive team was called in and were able to make the recovery on the morning of May 3.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Treseng has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
