The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died as a result of a motor vehicle incident which occurred on June 4, 2015, in Peachland.

Mr. Grant Orville Wheeler, aged 81, from Oliver, was driving northbound on Highway 97 when the vehicle he was travelling in was involved in a collision with a southbound semi-trailer at Brent Road.

Mr. Wheeler was confirmed deceased at the scene of the incident. A passenger, who was travelling in the vehicle with Mr. Wheeler, was injured in the incident and was transported to Kelowna General Hospital for treatment.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Wheeler has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
