The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motorcycle incident in Oliver on June 9, 2015.
He was Robert Andrew Derby, aged 63, of Osoyoos.
Mr. Derby was the operator of a motorcycle that was heading southbound on Highway 97 at about 3:30 p.m. on June 9. In the 7300 block, in Oliver, Mr. Derby swerved to avoid a deer, left the roadway and struck a telephone pole. He was transported to South Okanagan General Hospital, but died shortly after arrival there.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Derby’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
