The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motorcycle incident near Kamloops on July 2, 2015.
He was Colin Leslie Mackay, aged 42, of Vancouver.
Mr. Mackay was the operator of a motorcycle that was heading northbound on Highway 5A at about 1:20 p.m. on July 2. About 10 kilometres south of Kamloops, in an area known as Cardieu Hill, Mr. Mackay lost control on an uphill curve. His motorcycle left the road and cartwheeled down a 12-metre embankment. Mr. Mackay was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Mackay’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
