The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a motorcycle incident in Chemainus on June 30, 2015.
He was Colin Thomas Campbell, aged 61, of Parksville.
Mr. Campbell was the operator of a motorcycle that was heading southbound on the Trans-Canada Highway through Chemainus on June 30 when at about 2 p.m., at the intersection with Oyster-Sto’Lo Road, he collided with a vehicle that had stopped on the travelled portion of the roadway. Mr. Campbell was flown to Vancouver General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries on July 4.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Campbell has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
