The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a motor vehicle incident near Campbell River on July 20, 2015.

He is Lance Henry Eckford, aged 24, of Campbell River.

Mr. Eckford was the driver and sole occupant of a pickup truck that was travelling southbound on Highway 19 north of Campbell River in the early morning hours of July 20 when, about 20 km north of Campbell River, it left the highway and rolled. Mr. Eckford was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Eckford has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
