The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident near Chase on July 31, 2015.

He is Sascha Dieter Hedrich, aged 19, of Pritchard, a small community east of Kamloops.

Mr. Hedrich was the driver and sole occupant of a car that, while heading westward on Highway 1 about 12 kilometres west of Chase, in an area known as Hoffman Bluffs, collided with an eastbound tour bus at about 4 p.m. on July 31. Mr. Hedrich was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

Mr. Hedrich’s’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
