The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a swimming incident on Mara Lake near Sicamous on Aug. 4, 2015.

He was Scott Kevin Hardy Glen, aged 24, from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Mr. Glen was staying with friends on a rental houseboat moored at a marina near Sicamous. In the early morning hours of Aug. 4, he and a friend were swimming from the swim deck of the houseboat when Mr. Glen did not resurface. The friends immediately called for help but an immediate search of the area yielded no results. The RCMP dive team was called in and were able to make the recovery from about 15 metres of water later in the morning.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Glen has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
