The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident near Merritt on Aug. 14, 2015.

He is Daniel Thomas Semeniuk, aged 25, of Red Deer, Alberta.

Mr. Semeniuk was the driver and sole occupant of a car that left the roadway and rolled while heading westbound on Highway 97C about three kilometres east of Merritt at about 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 14. Mr. Semeniuk was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

Mr. Semeniuk’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
