The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a jet-ski incident on Osoyoos Lake on June 28, 2015.
He was Samen Pirzadeh-Tabaei-Zavareh, aged 34, from North Vancouver.
Mr. Pirzadeh-Tabaei-Zavareh was driving a jet-ski with a passenger on board on Osoyoos Lake in the late afternoon of June 28. They encountered strong winds and high waves and the jet-ski capsized. The passenger was rescued by a passing boat, but Mr. Pirzadeh-Tabaei-Zavareh was not found. A private search located the likely area for recovery on Aug. 15, and he was recovered by the RCMP dive team on the morning of Aug. 16.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Pirzadeh-Tabaei-Zavareh has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
