The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who died following an industrial accident in Prince Rupert on Aug. 19, 2015.

He is Warren Murrey Pearce, aged 48, of Prince Rupert.

Mr. Pearce was working on a barge-loading operation in the Prince Rupert industrial park when, about 12:15 p.m. on Aug. 19, the bulkhead on which he was standing collapsed, pulling Mr. Pearce into the ocean along with the debris. Mr. Pearce was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service, WorkSafeBC and the RCMP continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Pearce has been notified of his death. On behalf of the family, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
