The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a boy who died after an ATV incident near Celista on Sept. 12 2015.
He is Liam Parker Smith, aged nine, from Celista, a small community on the north shore of Shuswap Lake.
Liam was operating a quad ATV on family property in Celista in the late morning hours of Sept. 12, 2015, when it rolled, trapping him underneath the machine. Liam was transported by air ambulance to BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver; however, he succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash the next day.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
Liam’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
