The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident near Princeton on Sept. 27, 2015.
He was German Marrero Santana, aged 65, of Victoria.
Mr. Santana was the driver and sole occupant of a pickup truck that left the roadway on Highway 3 about 25 km west of Princeton on the evening of Sept. 27 and tumbled down a 75-metre embankment. Family members reported him missing later that evening when he failed to arrive for a planned meeting. He and his vehicle were found at the bottom of the embankment on Sept. 29.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Santana’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
