The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a motor vehicle incident near Nanaimo on Oct. 5, 2015.

He was Zachary Michael Andrews, aged 19, of Ladysmith.

Mr. Andrews was the driver and sole occupant of a car that was travelling northbound in the correct lane of the Nanaimo Parkway at about 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 5. Near the intersection with Mostar Rd., the car was involved in a head-on crash with another vehicle. Mr. Andrews was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Andrews has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
