The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a boating incident on Kootenay Lake near Riondel on Oct. 11, 2015.

He was David Larry Dale Jamieson, aged 30, from Fruitvale, a small community about 16 kilometres east of Trail.

Mr. Jamieson was one of four persons aboard a seven-metre aluminium power boat on Kootenay Lake. About 8 p.m. on Oct. 11, the boat ran into rocks at the base of a steep rock face near the Riondel ferry terminal on the east side of the lake. Mr. Jamieson died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Jamieson has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
