The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a motorcycle incident in the Victoria suburb of Saanich on Oct. 4, 2015.

He is James Thomas Brookes, aged 32, of Victoria.

Mr. Brookes was the operator of a motorcycle on Glanford Avenue in Saanich in the early morning hours of 0ct. 4 when in the 4100-block he failed to negotiate a curve and left the road. Mr. Brookes was taken to Victoria General Hospital with critical injuries; he succumbed to those injuries on Oct. 14, 2015.

The BC Coroners Service and Saanich municipal police continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Brookes has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
