The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who died following a motor vehicle incident near Williams Lake on Oct. 30, 2015.

He was Allan Mark Shewchuk, aged 52, most recently residing in Williams Lake.

Mr. Shewchuk was the driver of a southbound SUV which sideswiped a loaded semi truck and low-bed unit on McKenzie Ave. N. and 168 Rd. in Williams Lake, shortly after 7 p.m. on Oct. 30.  Mr. Shewchuk was transported to Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival at hospital.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Shewchuk has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
