The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of three persons who died following a motor vehicle incident near Merritt on Nov. 6, 2015.

They are Sean Robert Anderson, aged 40, of Westbank; Kim Christine Dunstan, aged 26, of West Kelowna; and Ms. Dunstan’s brother, Jarrett Francisco Dunstan, aged 21, of Westbank.

Mr. Anderson was the driver and Mr. and Ms. Dunstan the passengers in a rented U-Haul vehicle heading westbound on Highway 97C about 6:40 p.m. on Nov. 6, 2015. About eight kilometres east of Merritt, the U-Haul struck the rear of a slow-moving semi-super B train carrying demolished vehicles. All three were deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate these deaths.

The families of all three victims have been notified of the deaths. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
