The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a residential fire on Gabriola Island on Nov. 16, 2015.
He was Wayne Barry McFetridge, aged 64, of Gabriola Island.
Mr. McFetridge was found in his residence after the blaze was extinguished by the Gabriola Fire Department, who arrived on scene at 5:30 a.m.
The BC Coroners Service, Office of the Fire Commissioner and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. McFetridge has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
