The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died when struck by a vehicle in Nanaimo on Nov. 20, 2015.

He was Patrick Stephen Harty, aged 28, of Lloydminster, Alberta.

Mr. Harty, a pedestrian, was struck by a northbound vehicle on the Nanaimo Parkway at approximately 3 a.m. Mr. Harty was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Harty has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
