Premier Christy Clark announced the following change in cabinet responsibilities today.

Don McRae has asked to be relieved of his cabinet duties to support a family member through health challenges.  He will continue to serve as MLA for Comox Valley.  

Michelle Stilwell will be sworn in as Minister of Social Development and Social Innovation on Monday Feb. 2, 2015.

"I fully support Don McRae’s difficult and courageous decision to step away from the additional responsibilities of executive council at a time when he needs to focus on his family and his constituents,” said Premier Clark. “Michelle Stilwell has excelled at everything she has done, including as our caucus chair.  She will continue to provide a strong voice from Vancouver Island in cabinet.”  

As well, the Premier made the following changes to Parliamentary Secretaries:

• MLA Darryl Plecas, Parliamentary Secretary for Seniors to the Minister of Health
• MLA Mike Morris, Parliamentary Secretary  to the Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations
