Premier Christy Clark has issued the following statement marking Nowruz:

“Beginning March 20, people of Persian heritage in British Columbia and around the world will celebrate Nowruz, the Persian new year.

“Nowruz represents the beginning of spring, and the new life that comes with this season of joy.

“On behalf of all British Columbians, I wish those celebrating Nowruz a happy, healthy new year full of blessings.

“Nowruz Mobarak!”
