Premier Christy Clark has issued the following statement marking Passover:
“Beginning at sundown on Friday, the Jewish people will celebrate Passover.
“In communities around the world, families and friends will gather around the seder table, recounting the story of the Hebrews’ exodus from Egypt and the beginning of their journey to the promised land.
“For centuries, Passover has been a yearly reminder to treasure what is most important: family, community, and historical memory. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the Jewish people’s immeasurable contributions to our society and way of life.
“Let me wish the Jewish people, in British Columbia and around the world, a happy Passover. Chag Pesach Sameach!”
