Premier Christy Clark has issued the following statement on the beginning of Chanukah:

“I would like to offer best wishes to the members of British Columbia's Jewish community as they celebrate Chanukah.

“Beginning Sunday, Jewish families throughout B.C. and around the world will gather to tell the story of the Maccabees and the miracle of Chanukah.

“Holidays like Chanukah strengthen B.C.'s diversity and cultural richness as a whole, and remind us of the importance of family and spending time with those we care about most.

“I wish British Columbia's Jewish community a very Happy Chanukah. Chag sameach.”
