The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident along the Sea-to-Sky Highway (Highway 99) on Dec. 17, 2015.
He was Cristian Jose Oreamuno, aged 41, of Squamish.
Mr. Oreamuno was the driver and sole occupant of a pickup truck that was involved in a head-on collision with a Nissan Pathfinder and caught fire approximately five kilometres south of Whistler just before 9 a.m. on Dec. 17, 2015. Mr. Oreamuno was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service, as well as the RCMP Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service, continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Oreamuno’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy during this difficult time.
