For the first time in British Columbia, Unibroue – a popular Quebec brewery – will release 101 limited-edition bottles that have made their way to Vancouver and will be paired with fare from a travelling food truck.
The six-litre bottles of La Fin du Monde and Unibroue 17 Grande Reserve will make their B.C. debut at the 39th-and-Cambie Signature BC Liquor Store on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. The bottles will be on sale on a first-come, first-served basis.
To coincide with the truck’s arrival, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Unibroue’s beer sommelier Sylvain Bouchard will hold an educational beer-pairing seminar at the same location. Unibroue products will be paired with food – such as slow-cooked pulled beef and duck terrine – straight from the food truck, which has made its way across the country from Chambly, Quebec to take up temporary residence in the store’s parking lot that day.
Tickets for the pairing event are $35 and are available in the 39th-and-Cambie BC Liquor Store or by emailing: events@bcliquorstores.com
Customers who attend the pairing session will receive souvenir glassware and will have one bottle of each product reserved for their purchase, if they are interested.
