Clean Energy Fuels Corp. took the top award for Transit Engineering Services at the 11th annual Deputy Minister’s Consulting Engineers Awards for its exceptional work on BC Transit's Compressed Natural Gas Bus Fuel Station in Nanaimo.
The firm was awarded a $2.1-million contract for the design, construction and installation of a unique Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling station for the new CNG bus fleet in Nanaimo, the first of its kind for BC Transit.
Clean Energy Fuels designed a safe and reliable operation using innovative technology. The new facility has been functioning extremely well since it went into use in spring 2014, receiving a high level of public support.
The other finalist in this category was WSP Canada Inc. of Vancouver for the Hamilton Transit Centre project in Richmond.
The Deputy Minister’s Consulting Engineers Awards recognize technical excellence in consulting engineer services that improve transportation infrastructure in B.C.
