The fifth annual Ryder Hesjedal’s Tour de Victoria bike ride takes place on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with an anticipated 1,500 cyclists riding through Victoria, Westshore and the Saanich Peninsula.
Drivers can expect moderate delays of up to 20 minutes from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Pat Bay Highway (Highway 17) and Sayward Road. During this time, the signal will be flashing red and the intersection will be controlled by traffic control personnel. Turns from the highway onto Sayward Road will be closed to non-local traffic.
Motorists are advised to allow additional time to arrive at their destinations, and to adjust travel plans where possible. Please exercise caution, obey posted speeds and event signs, and watch for flaggers.
