Between the hours of 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, the Stanley Park Causeway will be closed for site preparation work for the Stanley Park Causeway pedestrian and cycling safety improvement project.
During this time, all traffic will be detoured via other routes through the park. Drivers, pedestrians, cyclists and transit users are advised to allow additional time to arrive at their destinations, exercise caution, obey posted speeds, and watch for traffic control personnel.
Construction work will continue on Monday with new detour schedules that will be in effect throughout the remainder of the project. From Sept. 14 through to the end of 2015, travellers can expect the following:
- Pedestrian and cyclist detours will be in place via Hanson Trail and Pipeline Drive between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays. Pedestrians and cyclists are advised to watch for detour signs and can follow Twitter updates at @DriveBC_LM or @DriveBC for sidewalk open/closed status. As well, the detour map is posted at: http://www.gov.bc.ca/StanleyParkCauseway
- Vehicle traffic on the Causeway will not be affected during the daytime. There will be single lane closures overnight on weekdays between 9:30 p.m. and 6 a.m., and on weekends between 10 p.m. and 9 a.m., with one vehicle lane remaining open in each direction.
