Finance Minister Michael de Jong released the following statement today:

“For nearly six years as B.C.’s information and privacy commissioner, Ms. Denham has advocated for stronger information management practices and held us accountable to ensure we meet our legislated privacy and access requirements. Her contributions have helped transform the landscape of information management in this province and put us on a solid foundation to meet the needs and challenges ahead.

“I thank her for her perseverance and dedication to the people of British Columbia and know that, should her nomination be confirmed, she will bring the same level of integrity and innovation to her new role.”
